Latex Foam

Learned from nature...
The excellent properties of our contourex® latex foam fulfil the requirements for the highest comfort standards. Extremely high and permanent elasticity ensure pleasant, high quality damping and padding. The material, which is also porous on its surfaces, has an optimum climate-regulating properties by retaining an ideal relationship, being both breathable and permeable to air as well as perspiration-absorbing and dissipating.

 Our 4 Standardqualities
Soft (pink) / density 0.20 g/cm³; Shore OO = 40
Our softest foam is especially suitable for upper padding as well as for helmet padding and bicycle saddles. With these we mostly cushion particularly sensitive parts of the body. Due to its special density and high elasticity, the foam retains a pleasant padding effect even when it is highly compressed
.

Medium (grey) / density 0.28 g/cm³; Shore OO = 50
Our medium hard foam has proven to be especially good for orthopaedic inserts, installation parts for the insole area as well as for equestrian sports. Here, in most cases the foam must not be too soft, as it would push through under higher weight loading. On the other hand,
too hard a quality could cause reduced comfort.

Hard (anthracite) / density 0.28 g/cm³; Shore OO = 60
Our hard foam quality is especially popular in the orthopaedic segment, for arch supports, metatarsal pads and heel lift pads. The material provides a good support function, is easy to grind and glue, but despite its hardness it retains its incomparable latex foam comfort.

Memory (red) / density 0.20 g/cm³
Our visco-elastic foam is outstanding for applications in which properties such as pressure distribution and shock absorption are required, for example, for diabetic and sport insoles. The special foams absorbs 95.1% of impacts and individually distributes the pressure over a larger area, as the pressure inducer sinks into it, as if into sand.
The contourex® memofoam developed by us and the biomechanical properties of the human skin, in physical terms, form a comparable visco-elastic system. This manifests itself, for example, in the fact that pressure is optimally distributed by body heat and body weight. The figure shows the dynamic compressive load without contourex® memofoam on the left and the significantly lower compressive load with it on the right.

The "viscous" properties of the foam also have an excellent shock-absorbing effect of 95.1%, even after 100,000 load cycles. The delayed memory (resilience) of the foam in particular is the precondition, which enables contourex® memofoam to adapt to the foot as it constantly changes during the course of the day. This enables an individual footbed shape at any time.
