There are many definitions to describe sustainability.

A basic idea is that a system is sustainable if it survives and has a long-term existence.1
 
The company Brötje Schaumtechnik GmbH & Co. KG exists very successfully for over 50 years. Already 1996, we were one of the first companies in Germany to incorporate the environmental concept into our actions and have ourselves certified according to the Eco-Audit.
 
The corporate policies that shape our business have been developed over time with our employees, and every employee has an obligation to act accordingly.
 
We have undergone several certification forms in recent years and have ultimately remained with DIN EN ISO 14001 because with this standard we can ensure the monitoring and further development of our production and products.
 
What does that mean in detail?
  • PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTS
    • We produce articles that pollute the environment as little as possible during manufacture, use and disposal
    • We design our production safely for people and the environment
    • We continuously improve our recipes and develop special ones technical solutions to create our customers competitive advantages
    • We buy responsibly
    • We produce exclusively in Germany (Rastede)
  • HEALTH
    • For our products, we only use the highest quality basic materials from certified, well-known manufacturers from Europe
    • We don’t comply only with the legal EU and international guidelines, but also with much more critical requirements of our customers who set their own standards (for example CADS)
    • Regular occupational health examinations and continuous workplace assessments ensure the health of our employees in the workplace
  • SOCIETY
    • We maintain a direct and intensive dialogue with the authorities and interested parties
    • Since we produce in an industrial and residential mixed area, the harmonious interaction with our neighbours is particularly important for us
    • We rely on a good working atmosphere to bind our employees with their experience to our company in the long term
    • We pay fair wages above the minimum wage and grant our employees above-average annual leave
The issue of sustainability has almost reached all customers, suppliers and consumers. In general, one can say that many companies set very different priorities because of the possibilities of interpretation. For example, some companies consider the social aspects, while others refer to the careful use of resources.
 
For Brötje Schaumtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, it is important to continuously scrutinize the various processes and their processes. We now know that environmental thinking is a good way of conserving resources in the long term and of promoting innovation.
